EJ || Laguna Beach, Summer 2017

EJ slides into the booth across from me at Ruby's diner. he’s wearing an In-n-out t-shirt and coral shorts. "Nice shirt." our waitress points out with a smirk. leave it to EJ to come to a burger joint dressed by the competition.

its an unusually cloudy day in Laguna Beach, a fact that EJ points out in disappointment. “i kind of don’t want to go anywhere now.” he says. regardless, we walk down pacific coast highway, snapping photos as we go. “will you run up those stairs and stand there real fast?” i ask him. “thanks for the offer, but no,” he replies. if you know EJ, then you know he isn't one to spend time posing for a staged picture. as a result, the shots I get of him are these: stolen moments of a life in constant motion.

the colors of laguna beach are a perfect representation of life in the vibrant seaside town: bright, chaotic, stunning. it is here that i am moved to capture this moment: a day at the beach with a dear friend.

the clouds begin to clear up, we continue walking down main beach. and so the summer of 2017 begins.
